on this one I decided to do a black and white filter (although I posted the original as well). I just like the positioning of the tree twigs, kind of makes me think of someone hiding behind a skinny pole

not all pictures need to be perfectly in focus; newsworthy or even technically good – to be a good picture. I just really like the way this little cardinal lady has her head cocked to the side – just so darn cute

Slipping in another Cardinal
I’m not sure if the camera or my eyes are going, but I appear to be getting blurrier pictures 😦 so I did modify the diopter and seem to see an improvement (so I’m guessing the eyes are the issue not the camera!) -but I got a pretty sharp cardinal and just had to post another!

I was very hard pressed to post a picture of a tree 🙂 – but couldn’t just give you another bird pic. However, I did get a really nice cardinal pic – so bonus pic day! I have a crab apple that was hit by lightening about a year ago (she’s coming down soon) so she has some interesting things going on (I also have a tree with pine beetle eggs but have decided not to show that one – fungi grosses me out less!

Cardinal Crazy Still
OK, I did say that I was going to stalk my cardinal til I got a picture that wasn’t taken from behind a window 🙂 After staying outside for 2 hours every day this week, he finally got comfortable enough to hang around for a while. Tomorrow I’m going to be doing some gardening, so preparing you in advance … you’ll probably see pansies 🙂
