OK, I’m still not 100% there on birds in flight yet – but I have found a nifty little thing on my camera. When shooting in scenes mode, there is the option to choose a high burst option. It shoots five – ten pics in rapid succession. With that I’ve gotten a bit better. But you still have to guess when the suckers are going to want to start flying – that’s the part I don’t have down yet. So these two shots are at the feeder – mainly because I stand a better shot of seeing other birds coming which might get the perchers to fly. One is of a bird approaching the feeder and the other is of a (hermit thrush I believe) who is just a bit too large for the feeder – in order to stay on the feeder he has to repeatedly flutter about.
