As I take my photos each day, I sometimes get confused as to whether or not I’m trying to improve my photography skills or in attempting to do so am I becoming more aware and appreciative of what’s around me.  In looking around my backyard I saw some red and thought it was my friend, but it was just some leaves.  What I really like about this photo is that, with the lighting and positioning of the red leaves it makes it looks like the tree is on fire.  Or, not so much on fire, but if you’ve seen lava holes where specks of live lava peek out from hardened lava – it looks more like that to me – either way, interesting (at least to me).
