OK, so I’m a bit fussy now. I took numerous shots on the way (2 flippin’ hour) drive home today – just like yesterday …. BUT I had reduced the resolution for a picture I took at work for something and the resolution isn’t good enough to post. So this one is before I lowered the resolution and is when I was getting to work at 6:50 in the a.m. All is nice and quiet at that time.

Well the title says it all this time. On the way to work there was a nice fat moon, but only a thumbnail of light.
So as I said, here is a good bird picture and what will follow are my very blurry bird in flight pictures. I do love the one that looks like the bird is made of light, the others are just repeated attempts to get a good in flight pic. I am getting much better results – I basically had to reset all my settings on the canon and have just gone with the sports mode. It has gotten cold out again – so not sure I’ll be outside in the next couple of days but I do want to get the tripod out and see if that helps at all. I think I do need to get a remote or wireless shutter release though to further eliminate camera shake.
So I guess I’m going to be doing birds for a while. Oddly enough I guess end of February and beginning of March is spring in Georgia and I have a very busy back yard. And while the weather has been nicer and I feel like getting out and about – I do feel guilty if I don’t give my cat boys at least an hour out if it is nice enough. Although snoopy is getting a bit bold my bird pictures may have to happen before or after I take him out. I am also still trying flight pics, so I think tomorrow I’ll get a good pic, but I’ll also add a gallery of my very blurry flight picture failures 🙂
Today I went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens – it was a beautiful day outside. They were having their Orchid Daze and usually I would have been posting pictures of the orchids themselves. As I have been several times now I looked for other details. So the three photos I have focus less on the blooms than textures. The one orchid bloom I show is very fuzzy and has trapped water. The other pictures I liked were of spotted leaves and stripped bark. Not quite sure how folks take pictures in the tropics, when I entered the one room I had my camera under my shirt – only briefly taking it out to snap a shot and had to keep cleaning the lens. As the work week hits tomorrow – most likely it will be more buildings and backyard shots LOL. Hope the weekend was great!
So Saturday was a rough one (why I’m posting today 🙂 ) … Don’t get me started on why Sears sold something they wouldn’t install – however I spent 7 hours putting together a King Size Platform Bed by myself. So instead of being outside all day – I just got about an hour with my kitties and was too pooped to pop. So back to backyard critters. I had several that were doing a nice pose and a cardinal still being shy and hiding so he’s not clear yet. I will begin to temp him with black sunflower seeds so hoping to get a nice shot in the next couple of weeks.
